Environmental Impact
Due to the geological size and formation of its deposits, soapstone is still quarried using a rudimentary method. Only wire, sand, and water are used to extract blocks from the quarry, no other chemicals or foreign substances are used in our process. Because of the region from which our soapstone is extracted, little-to-no deforestation ever takes place. Our soapstone comes from a mountainous cerrado (savannah) over 4,000km away from the rainforest.
The soapstone “boom” which began in recent decades has bolstered local communities by providing countless jobs, increasing tax revenue, and improving local services such as road building, water, sewer and electricity infrastructure.
